Shandong has successfully developed the largest capacity natural ester insulated oil transformer in China with the ignition point higher than 300 ℃.

On September 6, the largest natural ester insulated oil transformer in China passed all the test projects at one time, with excellent performance indicators. The transformer is independently developed by Shandong Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd., which belongs to Shandong Electrical Power Group Co., Ltd. and is also the first natural ester insulated oil transformer in Shandong Province. The successful development of this product has realized the leap from small capacity to large capacity of domestic natural ester insulated oil transformer, marking another major breakthrough in the research and development of new products of power equipment in Shandong Province.

As the blood of power transformer, the insulation and heat dissipation performance of insulating oil are the key factors that determine the long-term safety and stability of transformer. Natural ester insulating oil is a kind of renewable liquid insulating medium with high ignition point and environmental protection. Its ignition point is higher than 300 C, heat-resistant grade is K, and natural degradation rate can reach 97%. Natural ester insulated oil transformer has many excellent performances, such as long life, high overload, environment friendly and fireproof safety.

At the end of 2017, Shandong Electric Power Equipment Company formally launched the research and development of Natural Ester Insulated Oil Transformer. The R&D team of the project has conducted in-depth technical exchanges with experts at home and abroad for many times. By combining simulation software with physical model test, the characteristics of natural ester insulating oil transformer, such as voltage impact resistance, dielectric loss and partial discharge, have been studied in depth. The optimization design of insulation structure, treatment technology of natural ester insulating oil transformer oil and compatibility of natural ester insulating oil with materials have been tackled. Technical problems such as properties, production and manufacturing technology of natural ester insulating oil have been successfully developed at last.

It is reported that natural ester insulated oil transformer has been successfully applied in some developed countries in Europe and the United States, but in China, the research and application of high voltage and large capacity natural ester insulated oil transformer is still in its infancy. The successful development broke the monopoly of foreign natural ester insulated oil transformers in domestic and international markets, established Shandong Equipment Company's leading position in the production and research of large-capacity natural ester insulated oil transformers, enhanced the company's market competitiveness and brand influence, and laid a solid foundation for the next step of developing natural ester insulated oil transformers with larger capacity and higher voltage level.
